SAMBA POLICE ORGANISED GRAND ANTI-DRUGS AWARENESS PROGRAMME AT RAJPURA

Police-Students Relations Strengthened In Samba : SSP Benam Tosh

Samba, September 14 : Police today organised grand anti-drug awareness programme under Civic Action Programme at Govt. Higher Secondary School Rajpura situated in the border area of Samba sector where hundreds of students of several Govt. schools, parents, teachers, prominent citizens, PRIs and police officers witnessed the symposium. 

SSP Samba Benam Tosh, Additional SP Samba Surinder Choudhary, Deputy SP Garu Ram, SHO Police Station Ghagwal Bharat Bhushan and Incharge Police Post Rajpura SI Hardev Singh presented certificates and cash rewards of rupees 10000.00, 8000.00 and 5000.00 to the first, second and third best student speakers namely Vishal Kumar of GHSS Rajpura, Vaishali of GHSS Rajpura and Rishu Devi of GHS Mawa respectively whereas five other student speakers were also felicitated with certificates & cash rewards of rupees 2000.00 each. 

Hundreds of students of Govt. Higher Secondary School Rajpura, Govt. High School Mawa, Govt. High School Sanoora and Govt. High School Sade Chak participated in today’s anti-drug awareness programme. BDC Chairman Radhe Krishan, DDC member Asha Rani, Sarpanch Rajpura Suresh Kumar and Principal Govt. Higher Secondary School Rajpura Parveen Akhter thanked the police for organizing grand anti-drug awareness programmes at Rajpura to generate awareness among students and public against drug abuse. Additional SP Samba also spoke on the occasion and asked youth to stay away from narcotic substances. 

On the occasion, Senior Superintendent of Police Samba Benam Tosh said that police-students relations have been strengthened in Samba, as police is organizing series of anti-drugs programmes like symposiums, seminars and debates at different schools and colleges with the objective of creating anti-narcotic awareness among students, youth, parents, guardians, relatives and making it a mass movement against drugs especially heroin called "chitta". Nobody would be allowed in Samba district to flourish with illicit drug smuggling, supplying and peddling and Police has almost controlled the drug menace by arresting top suppliers and booking others. Benam Tosh informed that Police would organize more such awareness programmes, cultural events & sports activities in Samba district in near future. SSP Samba further said that aiders and abettors of heroin smugglers and suppliers would not be spared & stringent action against them under NDPS Act would be taken.
