POLICE TO ORGANIZE MORE SEMINARS, SYMPOSIUM, DEBATES, CULTURAL COMPETITIONS AND SPORTS EVENTS TO ERADICATE DRUG ABUSE : SSP SAMBA BENAM TOSH

Samba, September 26 : Police today organised grand drug awareness debate competition under CAP at Govt. Higher Secondary School Purmandal in which several Govt. schools participated and parents, lecturer & teachers, prominent citizens, Police officers remained present. SSP Samba Benam Tosh, Addl. SP Samba Surinder Choudhary, SDPO Bari Brahmana Rahul Nagar, SHO Police Station Purmandal Vijay Verma and Incharge Police Post Utterbheni PSI Ajay Singh presented certificates and cash rewards of rupees 12000.00, 8000.00 and 6000.00 to the first, second and third best student speakers namely Bhawana Bhagat of GHSS Purmandal, Radhika Dubey of GHSS Purmandal & Ridhima of GHSS Purmandal respectively, whereas five other student speakers namely Pankaj Kumar, Radhika Devi, Shambu, Isha Devi and Riya Devi were also felicitated with certificates & cash rewards of rupees 2000.00 each. Hundreds of students of Govt. Higher Secondary School Purmandal, Govt. Middle School Deon, Govt. Middle School Purmandal, Govt. Middle School Kund, Govt. Middle School Pacholi and Govt. Middle School Sangar participated in today’s anti-drug awareness programme. Incharge Principal Govt. Higher Secondary School Purmandal thanked the police for organizing grand anti-drug awareness programmes at Purmandal to generate awareness among students and public against drug abuse. Additional SP Samba also spoke on the occasion and asked youth to stay away from narcotic substances. On the occasion, Senior Superintendent of Police Samba Benam Tosh said that police would organize more seminars, symposium, debates, cultural competitions and sports events at different schools and colleges to eradicate drug abuse in Samba district. SSP Samba further said that Police is acting as parents and guardians of students and would provide required counselling including training to the NCC cadets at the schools and colleges and would remain intimately associated with one and all in the district so as to elicit actionable information and help the needy as and when required. Police would not differentiate between male and female as far as illicit heroin smuggling and supplying is concerned and strong action under law would be taken against criminals, he added.
