SAMBA POLICE ORGANIZES AWARENESS PROGRAM ON NEW CRIMINAL LAWS AT BBN HIGHER SECONDARY SCHOOL VIJAYPUR

Samba, March 19: Samba Police has today organized an awareness programme on three new criminal laws recently notified by Govt. of India at BBN Higher Secondary School Vijaypur which was attended by a large number of students and staff members.

The program was organized by SDPO Vijaypur Rohit Gupta, JKPS on behalf of District Police Samba with the objective to aware public regarding three new criminal laws to be implemented very soon in the country. During the awareness programme, SDPO Vijaypur deliver lectures on new criminal laws namely “Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita” (BNS), “Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita” (BNSS), and “Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam” (BSA) which will replace the Indian Penal Code (IPC), the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC), and the Indian Evidence Act.

During the programme, a debate competition on crime against women was also organized in which participant students were awarded with cash prize by police. At the end, refreshment was also given to the students.

The participants appreciated the role of the Samba Police in organizing the programme to spread awareness among the general public about the new criminal laws.
