Security Forces Arrest Terrorist Associate in Handwara, Recover Arms and Ammunition
Srinagar, Nov 5: In a successful operation, security forces have apprehended a terrorist associate in the Bongam Chogul area of Handwara, north Kashmir. The individual, identified as Ashiq Hussain Wani from Sopore, was taken into custody during a cordon and search operation, authorities reported.
A police spokesperson, quoted by news agency KNO, confirmed the arrest and stated that security personnel recovered a pistol, a magazine, and seven live rounds from Wani’s possession. “A case, FIR No. 200/2024, has been registered in Handwara police station, and an investigation is currently underway,” the spokesperson added.
This arrest marks another step in the region’s ongoing anti-terrorism efforts as security forces continue their crackdown on militant networks in Kashmir. Further investigations are expected to uncover more information regarding Wani’s connections and potential plans.
