Senior Police Officer Resigns to Contest Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Elections
Jammu: In a notable development amid the growing anticipation of elections in Jammu and Kashmir, Senior Superintendent of Police Mohan Lal Kaith (SSP J&K Police) has resigned from his position to enter the political arena. An experienced officer in the Kashmir Police Service (KPS), Kaith submitted his resignation to the Jammu and Kashmir Home Department, indicating his intention to run for assembly elections. He submitted his resignation on 31st of July.
Sources suggest that Kaith is currently negotiating with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to secure a nomination for the SC reserved Assembly seat. The BJP is reportedly considering supporting the experienced police officer, recognizing his potential to strengthen the party’s position in the upcoming assembly elections.
