SHO Bari Brahmana Injured in Midnight Attack by Drug Peddlers in Balol Khad Area

Jammu, April 10: In a shocking incident, Station House Officer (SHO) of Bari Brahmana, Pushpinder Ji, was seriously injured in a late-night attack by drug peddlers in the Balol Khad area — a location increasingly emerging as a hotspot for drug trafficking and abuse.
The incident took place around midnight when SHO Pushpinder, along with a Sub-Inspector and a police constable, launched a raid in the Balol Khad region following specific intelligence inputs. During the operation, the officers were attacked by suspected drug peddlers. All three sustained injuries and were initially shifted to Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu. Considering the seriousness of SHO Pushpinder’s condition, he was later referred to Amritsar for advanced medical treatment.
Balol Khad has become notorious as a hub for drug activities or you can say the Infamous Chitta Hotspot, with alarming consequences for the local population. In the past month alone, 6 to 7 allegedly drug-related deaths have been reported in the area, highlighting the severity of the issue.
In a determined crackdown, Samba Police recently arrested around 60 to 70 vagabonds and drug peddlers operating in the region. All were booked and subsequently shifted to Kathua Jail as part of a broader effort to dismantle the drug network and restore law and order in the district.
Authorities have vowed to continue the fight against the drug menace and bring the perpetrators of the attack to justice.
