Sumit Jandyal alias ‘Gataru’ head of Gataru Gangs Shot Dead in Broad Daylight at Jewel Chowk, Jammu

Jammu, Jan 21: In a shocking incident, a 37-year-old man was shot dead by unidentified assailants in the bustling Jewel Chowk area of Jammu on Tuesday afternoon.

The victim, identified as Sumit Jandial, son of Om Parkash, and a resident of Ward No. 9, Vijaypur, was traveling in an SUV when he was ambushed by unknown individuals. According to officials, the attackers, already present at the scene, fired four bullets at him, leaving him critically injured.

He was immediately rushed to Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu but was declared dead on arrival. The assailants managed to flee the scene, sparking a large-scale search operation by the police to apprehend them.

The incident was reported by PSI Anoop Kotwal of Police Station Nowabad. The deceased’s body has been shifted to the mortuary for a postmortem examination.
