Teenage Sisters Abducted from Jammu Rescued in Chhattisgarh: Accused Still at Large

Jammu, February 18: Two teenage sisters from Jammu, who were allegedly abducted a week ago, have been rescued from Chhattisgarh and reunited with their family, police said on Tuesday.

According to officials, the accused, identified as Shiva Dass and Manoj Kumar, both residents of Chhattisgarh, are still absconding. The Janipur Police Station in Jammu received a complaint from the girls’ father, alleging that his daughters, aged 16 and 17, were abducted by the two men who had been living in Janipur Colony.

Acting swiftly, a special police team was formed to investigate the matter. Following extensive intelligence gathering and coordinated efforts, the girls were located and recovered from Balooda in Chhattisgarh on Monday. The rescued sisters have since been handed over to their family, police confirmed.

In a separate incident, a girl reported missing from Gandoh area of Doda district on January 14 was also traced and rescued from Pathankot, Punjab, on Monday. She has been safely reunited with her family, officials added.

The police are continuing their search for Shiva Dass and Manoj Kumar, and further investigations are underway.
