Terror module busted, 3 arrested: 1 TRF millitant killed in Kashmir

In the Kashmir Valley, Police along with security forces busted a terror module & arrested three terror associates linked with the proscribed terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba & a TRF militant was killed in an encounter with security forces in Pulwama. According to police officials, Baramulla Police received credible intelligence that some unidentified terrorists affiliated with the banned LeT organisation are moving into Baramulla town with intentions to target security forces. The three persons from Town Baramulla were providing information about security force movements. Their clearcut intentions is to disturb the peace process in the Baramulla in view of forthcoming elections.

Upon receiving this information, a case under sections of the UA(P)Act was registered in Police Station Baramulla and investigations started. During the investigation, the three accused persons were apprehended in Old Town Baramulla and upon their disclosure three hand grenades & some incriminating material recovered from their possession in Baramullah. Further investigation of the case is in process.

Meanwhile a TRF militant was killed in an encounter with security forces in Pulwama district yesterday.

Security forces today launched a cordon-and-search operation in Fressipora village in the Rajpora area of the district following inputs about the presence of militants there. An official said that during the searches the militants opened fire on the troops leading to a gun battle in which one militant was killed. He was identified as Danish Sheikh, a resident of Srinagar. He was affiliated with the proscribed TRF, an offshoot of the LeT. Arms, ammunition and incriminating materials were found from the site of the encounter.
