Kathua, March 8, 2025: The bodies of three civilians, who went missing last night in Lohai Malhar village of Billawar tehsil in Kathua district, were discovered today in the upper reaches of the Billawar region.

The deceased have been identified as Varun Singh (15), son of Chamel Singh, a resident of Dehota; Yogesh Singh (32), son of Shori Lal; and Darshan Singh (40), both residents of Marhoon.

According to sources, the three had gone missing while on their way to a marriage function in the hilly terrain of Lohai Malhar. Following their disappearance, an extensive search operation was launched by local authorities, including police and rescue teams, leading to the grim discovery.

Reports suggest that The Resistance Front (TRF), a militant outfit, allegedly claimed responsibility for the incident in an unverified statement issued yesterday. However, official confirmation of their involvement is yet to be made.

The police have initiated a thorough investigation to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the victims’ disappearance and death. Security forces have been put on high alert in the region to prevent any further untoward incidents.

Authorities have assured that those responsible for the killings will be brought to justice. Further details are awaited as the investigation progresses.
