Three students died tragically after water filled in the basement of an IAS coaching center in Old Rajendra Nagar Delhi
In a tragic incident at the Rao IAS Coaching Center in Old Rajendra Nagar, Delhi, three civil service aspirants have died due to flooding in the basement of the coaching center. Heavy rains led to waterlogging, which filled the basement where students were present. The Delhi Fire Service, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), and local police launched immediate search and rescue operations upon receiving distress calls around 7 PM. Four motor pumps were deployed to extract the water, and five fire tenders were also sent to assist with the operation.
Following the tragic incident, students staged protests demanding better safety measures and accountability from the authorities and coaching center management.The students are calling for strict action against those responsible for the poor infrastructure and lack of emergency protocols that led to the disaster. Their demands also include enhanced safety standards in all educational institutions to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future
Delhi BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj and MCD Mayor Shelly Oberoi inspected the site, and authorities have ordered a thorough investigation to determine the cause of the flooding and ensure accountability.
