Two Arrested in Shastri Nagar with 3 kg Heroin: Pakistan Link Exposed – Heroin Worth ₹15 Crore Seized!

Jammu, November 16, 2025 – Jammu and Kashmir Police achieved a major breakthrough by busting an international drug trafficking racket linked to Pakistan. Two suspects were arrested near a crematorium in Shastri Nagar during a routine patrol, and approximately 3 kilograms of heroin were recovered from their possession. The seized heroin is estimated to be worth around ₹15 crore in the international market.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu Joginder Singh stated that the operation was led by the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) South and the SHO of Gandhi Nagar Police Station. Preliminary investigation revealed that the accused were part of a network smuggling heroin via drones from Pakistan into Punjab, and then distributing it through Jammu. This is the seventh such racket busted by Jammu Police this year.

Details of the Arrested Accused:

  • First Accused: A local resident acting as a courier; heroin packets were recovered from him.
  • Second Accused: A smuggler linked to Punjab, a key player in the supply chain.

Police confirmed that the traffickers were in direct contact with Pakistani smugglers who used drones to drop consignments across the border. Following the arrests, authorities have frozen the accused’s bank accounts and initiated the seizure of their properties. Interrogation is ongoing, and more associates are expected to be nabbed soon.

Police Vigilance:

SSP Joginder Singh said, “This network was active between Jammu, Punjab, and Pakistan. We are following a zero-tolerance policy against drug trafficking. We appeal to citizens to report any suspicious activity to the police.” This operation has not only disrupted the local drug supply but also dealt a severe blow to cross-border smuggling.

The incident is part of the ongoing anti-drug campaign in Punjab and Jammu & Kashmir, where several similar networks have been dismantled recently. A case has been registered under the NDPS Act, and further investigation is underway.
