UGC-NET Exam Cancelled Amid Security Concerns: CBI to Investigate

Delhi: In a significant development, the Ministry of Education has announced the cancellation of the UGC-NET exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on June 18, citing potential security breaches. Joint Secretary Govind Jaiswal revealed that the decision was made after it was discovered that the examination might have been compromised.

“9 lakh students participated in the UGC-NET exam on June 18. The ministry saw that there was a chance that the examination had been compromised. The ministry has decided to cancel the examination,” Jaiswal stated.

The Ministry of Education has referred the matter to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to conduct a thorough investigation. The new date for the examination will be announced soon, ensuring that the integrity of the process is maintained.
