Uproar in Jammu-Kashmir Assembly: Should the Election Commission Consider Kickboxing Skills for Candidates?

In Lighter Vein

Jammu, November 9 — The recent scenes in the Jammu-Kashmir Assembly resembled more of a live WWE match than a debate. Now, people are humorously suggesting that the Election Commission should add height, strength, and proficiency in sports like kickboxing to the eligibility criteria for future candidates!

How did the Assembly Uproar Start?

The session may have begun with discussion, but it quickly heated up, turning into a ruckus with some MLAs leaving their seats to go into “action mode.” Soon, they started closing in on each other as if they were ready to test each other’s strength rather than resolve issues!

Now, Fitness is Essential

People are jokingly saying that if things keep going like this, perhaps the Election Commission should include “mandatory fitness” as part of the eligibility criteria.

Many suggest that

future candidates’ height, width, and weight should be measured to ensure they have the required strength and stamina.

A local resident remarked, “Every small argument in the Assembly turns into a scuffle, so it would be better if the Election Commission also adds martial arts or kickboxing experience to its criteria.”

Kickboxing Champion MLAs Needed?

Now, there’s talk that if MLAs are skilled in kickboxing or wrestling, Assembly debates will take on a whole new flavor. When debates get heated, MLAs won’t have to think twice; they can just show off their kickboxing skills! People suggest that these MLAs should be trained in “flying kicks,” “punching power,” and “defense moves.” This way, not only will the Assembly debates be more entertaining, but they’ll also remain “peacefully intense.”

What Should the Election Commission Do?

In a lighthearted request, people are urging the Election Commission to soon organize a fitness and skills test for future MLAs, mainly covering football, wrestling, and kickboxing. This would ensure that future Assembly sessions remain debate-focused rather than devolving into “hand-to-hand combat.”

A New ‘Sports Spirit’ in the Assembly

While this suggestion is light-hearted, people feel it would certainly add a “sports spirit” to the Assembly’s decorum. So, if physical tests for candidates become mandatory in upcoming elections, it won’t be a surprise!

In the end, an Assembly with such energetic and strong
