Urgent Call for E-Challan Disposal Facility at Samba Court

Samba, June 8, 2025 – Residents of Samba district are facing significant challenges in disposing of e-challans due to the absence of a dedicated e-challan disposal facility at the Samba Court. Unlike the courts in Jammu and Kathua, which are equipped with e-portals and counters for efficient challan disposal, Samba lacks such infrastructure, forcing residents to travel to Jammu, specifically near Wave Mall, for resolution. This inconvenience is causing frustration among the local population, who are urging the administration to address the issue promptly.

The lack of an e-challan disposal system in Samba Court has placed an unnecessary burden on citizens, particularly those from rural areas, who must incur additional travel costs and time to settle their traffic violations. “It’s unfair that we have to go all the way to Jammu just to clear an e-challan. Kathua and Jammu courts have these facilities, so why not Samba?” said a local resident, echoing the sentiments of many.

Samba Times, on behalf of the people of Samba, requests the district administration and the judiciary to establish an e-challan disposal facility at the Samba Court. This would streamline the process, reduce the strain on residents, and bring Samba in line with neighboring districts. A dedicated e-portal or counter, similar to those in Jammu and Kathua, would significantly alleviate the issue.

The Samba Times urges the authorities to act swiftly to address this pressing concern and ensure equitable access to judicial services for the people of Samba.
