Wrong digging in the middle of the road: Cause of concern for the people, imminent danger due to the negligence of the administration

Samba, October 24 – Due to the ongoing construction work on the National Highway near Basantar Bridge in Samba district, pedestrians and vehicles are facing huge difficulties. Wrong digging done carelessly by the construction agencies has divided the road into two parts from the middle, increasing the risk of traffic obstruction and possible accidents.

Local citizens say that this pit has been left open without any proper sign or barricading, due to which the drivers are facing difficulty in commuting. Many times two-wheelers and small vehicles lose balance while passing through this pit, due to which there is a risk of accident. Local resident Virendra Sharma alias Bittu said, “This pit proves to be even more dangerous at night, as it has not been properly marked. This can lead to a major accident anytime.”

Request to the administration

The public has demanded from the administration that this pit should be repaired as soon as possible and the traffic should be allowed to run smoothly. Local residents have warned that if this problem is not resolved immediately, they will be forced to protest.

Waiting for the response of the officials
Now it remains to be seen how long the National Highway Authority and the local administration take steps to fix this pit. If not repaired on time, this pit can cause a major accident.

The administration’s activeness and vigilance towards this problem is extremely necessary to ensure the safety of the people.
