5 thieves arrested, 2 cases solved, raids underway
Samba police has arrested five thieves and solved two theft cases while raids on hideouts of thieves and burglars in the district are underway.
This was stated by newly posted SSP Samba, Benam Tosh while talking to reporters.
He said police has launched Intensive drive against thieves in Samba district and arrested five thieves so far and raids in different areas are underway.
Benam Tosh said since primary responsibility of the police is to protect lives and property of the people and thieves/burglars have posed big challenge before the police and society, vigorous intensive drive has to be launched to repose public confidence in police and cause deterrence to the burglars.
Giving details, SSP said that police has devised new strategy and launched intensive drive to track down all perpetrators of burglary in Samba district and consequently five thieves have been arrested so far and raids are underway at several places to nab other thieves.
Two separate theft cases of Police Station (PS) Bari Brahmana have been solved and stolen property worth lakhs of rupees has been recovered by the special team comprising of SDPO Bari Brahmana, Rahul Nagar, SHO Bari Brahmana, Sunil Sharma, SI Balbir Singh under the supervision of Additional SP Samba Surinder Choudhary.
Recovery of stolen property includes copper items and three motorcycles, he said.
The arrested thieves involved in two separate theft cases included Rohan Kumar alias Gourav of Teli Basti, Bari-Brahmana, Parshotam Lal alias Rinku of Choulla Kothey, R.S Pura, district Jammu at present Teli Basti, Bari-Brahmana, Shiv Dayal alias Sunny of Choulla Kothey, R.S Pura district Jammu, Munna Singh of Dumpora tehsil and district, Silliguri West Bengal at present, Teli Basti, Bari-Brahmana and Atul Patyal alias Katti of Patti tehsil Vijaypur, district Samba.
