Lakhanpur (Jammu): In a shocking incident, a 40-year-old man identified as Roop Singh was shot dead while he was sleeping inside his house in Dhanna village, near Lakhanpur.
According to preliminary information, unidentified assailants fired at Roop Singh through a window with desi gun late at night. The victim was asleep at the time of the attack. He was declared dead on the spot after sustaining gunshot injuries.
The attackers managed to flee the scene immediately after the firing. Police have registered a case and launched an investigation to identify and apprehend the culprits. Motive behind the murder is yet to be ascertained.
