BOVINE SMUGGLER ARRESTED, 16 BOVINES RESCUED BY POLICE
Samba, May 12: Continuing its drive against bovine smugglers and their propagators, Police has foiled three bovine smuggling attempts in the jurisdiction of Police Station Ghagwal and Police Station Samba, arrested bovine smuggler, rescued sixteen bovines and seized two vehicles.
A Police party of Police Station Ghagwal headed by SHO PS Ghagwal during vehicle checking at Naka Tapyal, intercepted two vehicles bearing registration No. HR51AF-8099 and JK11E-6667in two separate incidents for its checking. During checking of vehicles, two bovines in each vehicle were found which were tied in a cruel manner and were being transported illegally without any valid permission.
Two separate FIRs viz FIR No.65/2024 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act and FIR No.66/2024 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act have been registered at Police Station Ghagwal and investigation started.
Likewise, a police party of Police Post Mansar headed by Incharge Police Post Mansar has successfully foiled bovine smuggling attempt, arrested bovine smuggler and rescued twelve bovines which were being smuggled by foot via Mansar-Surinsar road. All the rescued bovines have been shifted to safer place.
The arrested bovine smuggler has been identified as Channa S/o Mohd Rayaz R/o Goran tehsil and district Samba
A case FIR No. 138/2024 U/S 188 IPC has been registered at Police Station Samba and investigation started.
