Breaking News: Major Security Breach in Jammu – Three Juveniles Including 2 Pakistanis Escaped from RS Pura Observation Home

Jammu, February 17, 2026 – In a shocking incident that has put the entire Jammu region on high alert, three juveniles escaped from the Juvenile Observation Home in the RS Pura area late Monday evening (February 16, 2026). The escape involved a violent attack on on-duty police personnel, raising serious concerns due to the proximity to the International Border and the involvement of foreign nationals.

According to Jammu Police and multiple reliable reports, the escape occurred around 5:05–5:15 PM when the trio allegedly assaulted and injured two policemen: Head Constable Parveen Kumar and Special Police Officer (SPO) Vinay Kumar. Some accounts indicate the use of a locally made pistol (katta), with threats and possible firing involved. The injured officers received immediate medical attention and are reported to be in stable condition after treatment at Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu.

The escaped juveniles have been identified as:

  • Karanjeet Singh alias Gugga (or Karanjit/Karajeet Singh), a local resident of Dablehar, RS Pura, Jammu – described in reports as a juvenile associated with criminal activities and allegedly linked to groups like the Khauff Gang.
  • Ahsan Anwar, son of Mohd Anwar, resident of Nankana Sahib, Punjab, Pakistan.
  • Mohammad Sanaullah (also reported as Mohd Sanaullah, Mohammad Suna-ullah, or M. Sanaullah), son of Mohd Zaffer, resident of Basti Jawewala, Tehsil Dinpur, District Muzaffargarh/Muzaffarabad area, Punjab, Pakistan.

The facility, managed by the Department of Social Welfare, Government of Jammu & Kashmir, houses juveniles under observation or in custody for various cases.

Jammu Police have launched a massive manhunt involving special teams, raids in suspected areas, and intensified checkpoints across Jammu and neighboring districts. All major roads, intersections, and border-adjacent routes are under strict surveillance, with a high security alert in place. Authorities suspect the group may attempt to flee toward border areas, prompting heightened vigilance from police and other security forces.

The incident, captured partially on CCTV according to some sources, has sparked widespread concern over security lapses in such facilities and the implications of Pakistani nationals being housed there before escaping.

Police officials have urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity immediately. No arrests or sightings have been officially confirmed as of early Tuesday morning, and the search operation continues.
