Jammu, Feb 24: In a significant development, security forces recovered two balloons carrying foreign currency notes from a forward village in the Akhnoor sector near Jammu on Monday.
According to official sources, the recovered material included a Pakistani Rs 5,000 currency note and a US dollar. The balloons are suspected to have drifted across the border before being spotted by local residents, who promptly informed the authorities.
Security agencies reached the spot and seized the balloons along with the currency notes. A detailed investigation has been initiated to ascertain the origin, purpose, and possible intent behind the incident.
