SAMBA: A live telecast programme on Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) Yojana for the release of the 22nd instalment by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, from Guwahati, Assam, was organized at the Conference Hall, DC Office Complex, Nandini Hills, Samba today. The programme was organized by the Agriculture Production & Farmers Welfare Department, District Samba.
On the occasion, Dr Devinder Kumar Manyal, MLA Ramgarh, attended the programme and joined the live address of the Hon’ble Prime Minister. During the release of the 22nd instalment, an amount of ₹18,650 crore was transferred directly to the bank accounts of over 9.32 crore beneficiary farmers across the country under the PM-KISAN scheme.
In District Samba, about 21,447 farmers benefited from the scheme and an amount of ₹4.289 crore was directly credited to their bank accounts, providing much-needed financial assistance to the farming community.
Among others present on the occasion were Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Samba and Nodal Officer PM-KISAN Jagdish Singh, Chief Agriculture Officer Dr Rakesh Khajuria, District Agriculture Officer Sanjay Kumar Badyal, Narinder Singh Salathia (SMS), Ram Swaroop (SMS) and Naresh Raina (SMS), along with other officers and officials of the Agriculture Department.
A total of 96 farmers participated in the programme and listened to the address of the Hon’ble Prime Minister through live telecast. Similar programmes were also organized across the district at block and panchayat levels to ensure maximum outreach among farmers.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks presented by Chief Agriculture Officer Samba, who appreciated the participation of farmers and officials in making the event successful.
