Samba May 31: Continuing its drive against the sale of illicit liquor in the Samba district, Police has arrested a bootlegger and recovered 52 bottles of illicit liquor of 180 ml each from his possession in the jurisdiction of Police Station Vijaypur.
A police party of Police Station Vijaypur headed by SHO PS Vijaypur during vehicle checking naka at Swankha Morh, intercepted a Motorcycle bearing registration No. JK02AT-5132 coming from Vijaypur side for its checking. During checking, 52 bottles of illicit liquor of 180 ml each of JK Special Whiskey were recovered from the possession of motorcyclist.
The arrested accused person has been identified as Suresh Kumar @ Shashi S/o Sukhram R/o Dabuj Kaka tehsil Ramgarh district Samba.
In this connection, a case FIR No. 76/2024 U/S 48(a) Excise Act has been registered at PS Vijaypur and investigation started.
