POLICING AT DOORSTEP; BASIC AIM OF THANA DIWAS: SSP REASI

‘Thana Diwas’ an initiative started by Government of J&K UT to bridge the gap between Police and Public and to reach, listen and redress the grievances of common masses.

Today Police Day observed across District Reasi. Main event was organized at Sawalakote in which SSP Reasi Sh Amit Gupta-JKPS along with SHO P/S Arnas Inspr. Jeet Singh listen to the grievances put forth by the prominents of Sawalakote and adjoining areas.

Besides Sawalakote similar events were organized at P/S Reasi, PP Kakryal, PP Dera Baba, Lar, Narkote, and Serwad Katra by District Police Reasi where Addl. SP Reasi, Addl. SP Katra, Dy.SP Hqrs. Reasi, SDPO Mahore, SDPO Arnas and SDPO Katra chaired the event.

“Thana Diwas” was attended by the respectable citizens, Public representatives and civil societies members of concerned areas. Besides them large number of Public of the concerned areas participated and graced the occasion.

During meetings numerous grievances were projected by the general public. Officers gave patient hearing to the participants and the grievances pertaining to Police were resolved on spot and also assured them that the issues pertaining to other departments will be taken up with concerned authorities for early redressal.

Speaking on the occasion SSP Reasi conveyed that basic aim for conducting Thana Diwas is to reach out to the people and provide policing at door step.

It was also reiterated that “Thana Diwas” is to ensure timely and efficient services to the aggrieved persons in transparent and Judicious manner. He retreated that people should come forward and join hands with Police for a crime free society.People appreciated this initiative of District Police Reasi for conducting such events.
