SAMBA POLICE ARRESTS BOVINE SMUGGLER, RESCUES 08 BOVINES, SEIZES 02 VEHCILES

Samba, Feb 5 : Continuing its drive against the bovine smuggling, Samba Police has successfully foiled two separate bovine smuggling attempts in successive day, arrested a bovine smuggler, rescued eight (08) bovines and seized two vehicles in the jurisdiction of Police Station Ghagwal and Police Station Samba.

A Police party of Police Station Ghagwal headed by SHO PS Ghagwal during vehicle checking at Naka NHW Tapyal, signaled a vehicle TATA-407 bearing regd. No. JK02DA-3918 coming from Kathua side to stop for checking. But the driver instead of stopping the vehicle, accelerated the speed and fled away from the naka point. The alert police naka party successfully chased the vehicle and intercepted it at Ghagwal Chowk. During checking of the vehicle, six (06) bovines were found laden inside the vehicle which were being transported illegally without any permission. 

The bovine smugglers identified as Farman Ali S/o Mohd. Rashid R/o Rakh Barotian, Vijaypur has been arrested and a case FIR No.10/2024 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Ghagwal. Further investigation is going on. 

A Police party of Police Post Rakh Amb Tali headed by Incharge PP Rakh Amb Talli during surprise naka check point established near Khanwal, intercepted a vehicle Scorpio Car bearing regd. No. JK02X-2762 in which two bovines were found loaded in a cruel manner and were being transported illegally without any valid permission. However, the driver of the vehicle managed to escape from the spot.

A case FIR No. 36/2024 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Samba and investigation started.
