Samba: February 12, 2026: Continuing its drive against bovine smugglers and their propagators, Samba Police has successfully foiled a bovine smuggling attempt in the jurisdiction of Police Station Ghagwal, arrested three bovine smugglers and rescued four bovines from the clutches of bovine smugglers.
Acting on information received from reliable sources, a team of Police Station Ghagwal during vehicle checking at Naka NHW Tapyal, intercepted a Mahindra Load Carrier bearing registration No. RJ13GC-5277 for its checking. During checking, four bovines were found inside the vehicle which were tied in a cruel manner and were being transported illegally without any valid permission.
The bovine smugglers identified as Bhagirath S/o Het Ram R/o Chakbhagsar district Ganganagar (Rajasthan), Rajinder S/o Juman R/o Sadulshahar district Ganganagar (Rajasthan) and Nisar Ahmad Mir S/o Mohd.Ahsan Mir R/o Sadura Fatehpora tehsil and district Anantnag have been arrested. All the bovines have been rescued and the vehicle involved in the illegal transportation of bovines has also been seized.
A case FIR No. 17/2026 u/s 223 BNS, 11 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Ghagwal and investigation started.
