Samba: January 16, 2026: Ahead of Republic Day-2026, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Samba today chaired a security review-cum-SMAC meeting with all security agencies at District Police Headquarters Samba to assess the preparedness and strengthen coordination among security agencies.The meeting was attended by the officers from the Army, BSF, CISF, ITBP, GRP, Traffic, SOG, MI, CID-CI, DSB, CID-SB, Police Telecom along with Addl SP Samba, all SDPOs and all SHOs.At the outset of the meeting, various security inputs received from the higher formations were discussed in detail and all participating officers were asked to activate their resources to generate actionable intelligence so that Anti-National Elements & Anti-Social Elements could not succeed in their nefarious designs.SSP emphasized round-the-clock alertness at NHW nakas, strengthening of border nakas, establishment of surprise joint nakas at strategic locations, intensification of patrolling and surveillance, adequate deployment at suspected drone dropping areas and conducting of random night nakas and ambushes at vulnerable locations.SSP also instructed all Supervisory Officers and SHOs to conduct census of inhabitants and tenants residing in and around venues earmarked for Republic Day celebrations across the district. He further directed that hotels and other lodgements be checked on priority.SSP Samba further stressed upon all the participants for effective and coordinated efforts to ensure smooth conduct of forthcoming Republic Day.
