Samba, March 26: Samba Police has today organized an awareness programme on three new criminal laws recently notified by Govt. of India at Dogra Law College Bari Brahmana which was attended by a large number of students and college faculty. The program was organized by District Police Samba and was presided over by ASP SDPO Bari Brahmana Mukund Tibrewal, IPS. The objective of the programme was to generate awareness on three new criminal laws to be implemented very soon in the country. During the awareness programme, ASP SDPO Bari Brahmana sensitized the participants about new criminal laws namely “Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita” (BNS), “Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita” (BNSS), and “Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam” (BSA) which will replace the Indian Penal Code (IPC), the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC), and the Indian Evidence Act. Students enthusiastically participated in the discussions during the programme and both the winners and participants were suitable rewarded with cash prize. Utilizing the opportunity, students were also sensitized about the menace of drug abuse currently prevailing in the society. At the end, refreshment was also served to the students. The participants appreciated the role of the Samba Police in organizing such programme to spread awareness among the general public about the new criminal laws.
