Baloch Liberation Army Claims 84 Pakistani Forces Killed, 18 Captured in ‘Operation Herof Phase II’ Across Balochistan

Quetta, Balochistan – February 1, 2026 – The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) released a statement late on January 31 claiming its fighters killed 84 Pakistani army personnel, police, intelligence operatives, and counter-terrorism department (CTD) members, while capturing 18 alive during coordinated attacks in 14 cities across Balochistan.Dubbed the second phase of “Operation Herof,” the assaults targeted military, administrative, and security sites in Quetta, Noshki, Mastung, Dalbandin, Kalat, Kharan, Panjgur, Gwadar, Pasni, Turbat, Tump, Buleda, Mangochar, Lasbela, Kech, and Awaran. BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch said fighters maintained “strong control” at these locations for over 10 hours, seizing multiple enemy posts including a central military headquarters, destroying over 30 government properties (such as banks, offices, and prisons), and setting fire to 23 vehicles.The group reported paralyzing enemy operations, forcing retreats to defensive positions, and restricting movements in urban areas. BLA units including the Fateh Squad, Majeed Brigade, intelligence wing “ZIRAB,” and STOS coordinated the strikes. Seven BLA fighters, including four from the elite Majeed Brigade, were killed in the action.Baloch civilians provided key support with mobility, communications, and ground control, according to the statement, which described the operation as ongoing with expected higher casualty figures. The BLA, designated a terrorist group by Pakistan and several countries, frequently issues such statements during attacks.
