Samba, November 10, 2025 – A wedding celebration in Jammu’s Samba district turned violent on Sunday evening as two rival groups from the nomadic Bakkerwal community clashed fiercely, leaving at least half a dozen vehicles vandalized and several people injured.

According to eyewitnesses and police reports, the brawl broke out during the wedding festivities in a village Palth On Samba mansar road. The dispute reportedly began over a minor issue but quickly escalated into a full-scale confrontation involving sticks, stones, and other objects.

“Both sides went at each other with full force. Cars and motorcycles were smashed, windshields shattered, and some vehicles were set on fire,” said a local resident who witnessed the chaos.

At least six people sustained injuries, including cuts, bruises, and fractures. The wounded were rushed to a nearby hospital, where their condition is reported as stable. No fatalities have been reported.

Police arrived at the scene after receiving distress calls and launched an investigation, and cases have been registered against members of both factions under relevant sections of the BNS for rioting and damage to property.
