CM Omar Abdullah strongly condemned the generalisation and stereotyping of Kashmiri people in the aftermath of the recent Delhi terror blast

Kulgam, J&K:During a public address in Kulgam, Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah strongly condemned the generalisation and stereotyping of Kashmiri people in the aftermath of the recent Delhi terror blast. He said that while “a handful of people” may have been responsible for the incident, an atmosphere was created as if the entire population of Jammu & Kashmir were collectively guilty

The Chief Minister expressed concern over the growing suspicion faced by people from J&K outside the region, especially in the national capital. He remarked that driving a vehicle with J&K registration in Delhi now feels like a crime, as many are stopped, questioned, and viewed with doubt.

Omar Abdullah also shared his personal experience, saying that even with minimal security, he hesitates before taking out his car in Delhi, fearing that someone might stop him, question his identity, and demand justification for his presence.

He urged the nation not to blame an entire community for the acts of a few and called for an end to prejudice and discrimination against the people of Jammu & Kashmir.
