Delhi High Court slaps ₹75,000 fine on law student seeking ‘extraordinary interim bail’ for Kejriwal

Delhi High Court dismissed a PIL & slaps ₹75,000 fine on law student seeking ‘extraordinary interim bail’ for Kejriwal on Monday. The petitioner had mentioned his name as “We, the people of India” in the plea.

A bench headed by Acting Chief Justice Manmohan said that the petition was “totally misconceived” and that the court cannot grant “extraordinary interim bail” to a person holding a high office.”Does he (the petitioner) attend classes in college? It seems he is not following principles of law,” the bench also comprising Justice Manmeet PS Arora said.

The petition also said the petitioner has “decided, by using his ‘veto power’, to release” on extraordinary interim bail for Kejriwal in all the criminal cases lodged by the ED and CBI pending against him till the completion of his tenure and the trial.

Delhi HC said “You lack locus standi to approach the court. Who are you to exercise any veto power? You are a member of the United Nations?
