Mild Earthquake Jolts Doda in Jammu & Kashmir

Doda, J&K | A mild earthquake measuring 3.6 on the Richter scale struck the Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir in the early hours of Monday, the 6th of October 2025, according to the National Center for Seismology (NCS).

The tremor occurred at 02:47:08 AM (IST) with its epicentre located at latitude 33.10°N and longitude 76.18°E, at a shallow depth of 5 kilometres.

So far, there have been no reports of any damage to property or loss of life from the region. Residents in some parts of Doda and adjoining areas reportedly felt mild tremors lasting a few seconds.

Jammu & Kashmir falls under a high seismic zone, and such low-intensity quakes are common in the region. Authorities continue to monitor the situation.
