Doda: Pregnant Wild Bear Rescued After 48-Hour Operation in Dangar Nullah

In a remarkable rescue operation, officials of the Wildlife Protection Department successfully saved a pregnant wild bear trapped in the strong currents of Dangar Nullah in Doda district. The rescue effort, which lasted for nearly 48 hours, concluded with the safe release of the bear back into her natural habitat.

According to officials, the animal had been swept away by powerful water currents and was struggling to find her way out. A dedicated team of wildlife staff and local volunteers worked tirelessly under challenging conditions to ensure the bear’s safety.

Range Officer Shafer Iqbal commended the team’s efforts and appealed to the public not to chase or disturb wild animals. He advised that in such situations, people should immediately inform the nearest Wildlife Control Room at Bhaderwah, Doda, or Kishtwar for timely assistance.

The department has also urged residents living near forest areas to remain cautious and report any sightings to avoid human-animal conflict.
