Samba Ghagwal, Feb 20 — In a humanitarian gesture, the SDM Ghagwal on the request of Jammu & Kashmir Handicapped Welfare Forum facilitated the provision of a new wheelchair to Vijay Kumari, a resident of border village Chachwal in the frontier area.
Vijay Kumari, daughter of Tarsem Singh, had become permanently disabled in her childhood after being trapped in cross-border firing from Pakistan. The wheelchair she had been using was recently damaged, causing her significant difficulty in mobility.
In the presence of Forum Chairman and retired Headmaster Charan Dass, the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Ghagwal, Sardar Kambaljeet Singh Bali, handed over a new wheelchair to Vijay Kumari, boosting her morale and providing much-needed support.The initiative was made possible through the efforts of the SDM Ghagwal.
The Forum and local residents expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the SDM for his dedicated efforts in assisting a person with disability in the border area.The act has been widely appreciated as a commendable step towards supporting vulnerable individuals living in border regions.
