Samba, December 1, 2025: In a shocking incident that has left residents stunned, a woman was brutally attacked and her mangalsutra (gold chain) snatched by two robbers in the middle of the day in Samba district.
According to eyewitnesses and the victim, the two miscreants intercepted the woman, grabbed her forcefully, and snatched her mangalsutra despite her strong resistance. The accused allegedly manhandled her with extreme rudeness, leaving her terrified and in tears.
Hearing her screams, local people immediately rushed to the spot and managed to overpower one of the robbers. The angry crowd thrashed him before handing him over to the police. The second accused, however, managed to flee the scene on the motorcycle.
The traumatized woman, still shaking with fear, narrated her ordeal to reporters with tears in her eyes, saying the robbers held her tightly and snatched the chain with force, showing no fear of the public or the law.
Police have registered a case and launched a hunt for the absconding accused. The arrested robber is being interrogated.
This daring daylight snatching has once again raised serious questions about women’s safety and rising street crime in Samba district. Local residents are demanding stricter patrolling and immediate action against such criminals. From the times the police station of Samba has shifted near the GREF Area near Mansar Morh, there is less patrolling in Samba Area. In the evening Times, there is heavy rush on the power house side & no one to manage the area. Earlier also so many theft incidents are reported in the Samba market. People are appealing to the Distt Administration & SDP Samba to look into the matter.
