Katra, J&K | October 5: The Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board has announced the temporary suspension of the Vaishno Devi Yatra from October 5 to October 7, 2025, following an inclement weather advisory issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
According to the Shrine Board’s official statement on X (formerly Twitter), the pilgrimage will resume on October 8 once weather conditions improve.
Visuals from the Baan Ganga entry point in Katra show restricted movement of pilgrims as authorities have halted the yatra to ensure safety amid forecasts of heavy rainfall and possible landslides in the region.
The Board has urged devotees to stay updated through official channels and avoid traveling to the shrine until the weather stabilizes.
