NASHA MUKT ABHIYAN CONTINUES: SAMBA POLICE ORGANIZES ANTI-DRUG AWARENESS PROGRAMMES INCLUDING RALLY AT RAMGARH AND PURMANDAL

Samba: April 17, 2026: Samba: As part of ongoing Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan, Samba Police continued its sustained efforts to combat drug abuse by organizing anti-drug awareness programme and rally in the jurisdiction of Police Stations Ramgarh and Purmandal.

An awareness programme was conducted at Government Degree College, Ramgarh while an anti-drug rally was organized in the jurisdiction of Police Station Purmandal in collaboration with students and staff of Devika International School. Both events witnessed active and enthusiastic participation from students, faculty members and police personnel.

The primary objective of these initiatives was to sensitize the youth about the adverse effects of drug abuse and to encourage them to adopt a healthy and drug-free lifestyle. During the programme, SDPO Vijaypur, SHO PS Ramgarh, SHO PS Purmandal, and other officers addressed the participants and elaborated on the serious physical, psychological, and social consequences associated with substance abuse.

Additionally, the participants were also made aware about the three New Criminal Laws implemented across the country since July 2024-highlighting their significance and key provisions.

Samba Police is committed to eradicate the drug menace from the district by taking strict legal action against drug smugglers and suppliers.

The initiative of J&K Police in raising awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse was widely appreciated by the school management and all the attendees.
