JKNC Secures Three Rajya Sabha Seats from Jammu and Kashmir; BJP Wins One

Srinagar, October 24, 2025 — The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) has achieved a significant victory in the Rajya Sabha elections, with senior party leader Choudhary Mohammad Ramzan elected to the Upper House after winning by a margin of 58 votes. The party further strengthened its parliamentary presence as candidates Sajad Kichloo and Shammi Oberoi each secured additional seats, according to an official statement from the National Conference.The election also saw the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) claim one seat, with Sat Sharma emerging as the successful candidate.The results reaffirm the National Conference’s leading position in Jammu and Kashmir’s political landscape, while highlighting the continuing presence of BJP representation from the region in the Rajya Sabha.
