The renewed discussions on restarting the firing range in Dasyia–Surara of the Kandi area have triggered widespread concern among local residents. According to the sources, as soon as the issue surfaced, lambardars and villagers from Daki, Chandli, Paloni, Baletr, Paswal and other nearby villages came together to express strong resentment against the government and the administration.
The villagers stated that reopening the firing range would have a severe impact on livestock rearing, agriculture, and everyday life, which they said would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
They have demanded that the administration seriously address their grievances and ensure that any decision regarding the firing range is taken keeping public interest in mind. The locals also recalled that in the past, the firing range had sparked intense public anger. Several people and animals were injured due to firing activities, and many even lost their lives, which ultimately led to the closure of the range.
The residents said that reopening the firing range would once again pose a serious threat to the safety, livelihood, and peace of the area. They warned that if their concerns are ignored, they would be forced to launch protests against the move.
But yet there is no official announcement or any statement from the concerned authorities so untill unless it’s is confirmed it is mere surmises on the part of the people.
