Samba: April 28, 2026: As a part of its relentless effort against drug peddlers/smugglers, Samba Police under the supervision of SSP Samba, Sh. Anuj Kumar-IPS, has attached 02 Kanal land valuing approximately 64 lacs belonging to a notorious drug peddler namely Yogeshwar Singh @Jebu S/o Yashpal Singh R/o Gurha Slathia, Vijaypur district Samba. The action was taken by Police under section 68(E) & 68(F) of NDPS Act.
The said land, situated at Rakh Barotian Vijaypur, identified as illegally acquired property during the course of investigation/enquiry conducted by police. The property was prima facie acquired from illicit trafficking in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances by the drug peddler.
It is pertinent to mention here that the accused Yogeshwar Singh @Jebu S/o Yashpal Singh is a notorious drug peddler involved in following NDPS cases registered against him at Police Station Vijaypur:
- FIR No. 116/2017 u/s 8/21 NDPS Act.
- FIR No. 51/2018 u/s 8/21 NDPS Act.
- FIR No. 106/2020 u/s 8/21/22 NDPS Act.
- FIR No. 203/2021 u/s 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act.
This decisive action demonstrates the Samba Police’s ongoing commitment to dismantle the drug trade by targeting illegal assets and deterring future offenders. Local people of the area hailed this unprecedented initiative of Samba Police against drug dealers.
The operation is part of the ongoing “Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan”, which seeks to eradicate drug abuse and trafficking from society.
