Samba, May 11: Panic gripped Pangdour area of Samba district after a heavy storm accompanied by strong winds struck the area late last night, leading to the collapse of a BSNL mobile tower.
According to reports, the tower was completely damaged after falling due to the impact of the storm and strong gusty winds. The falling structure also caused damage to the boundary wall on the roof of a nearby house.
Locals rushed to the spot soon after the incident. Fortunately, no loss of life or injuries were reported in the incident, bringing major relief to the residents.
Authorities are expected to assess the damage and take necessary measures for restoration of communication services in the area.
Reports of uprooting of trees from other adjoining areas & damaging & throwing downs of Signboards of shops from Samba areas is also coming.
