In this photograph Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Udhampur, IPS officer Amod Nagpure, stunned onlookers and workers alike by personally joining JCB operators to clear massive debris blocking the National Highway in the region.The incident unfolded amid heavy landslides triggered by recent adverse weather conditions, which had severely disrupted traffic on the vital arterial road connecting Jammu with the Kashmir Valley. With vehicles stranded for hours and commuters facing immense hardship, SSP Nagpure arrived at the spot to oversee restoration efforts.Eschewing the comforts of his official vehicle, the dynamic officer rolled up his sleeves, climbed aboard a JCB excavator, and began shoveling debris himself alongside the machine operators and laborers. Although this photo may be old but the discipline & dedication of the officer is great.The National Highway was partially cleared within hours of the SSP’s intervention, allowing essential traffic to resume. Authorities credited the swift response to coordinated efforts between the police, Public Works Department (PWD), and local administration.”This act of humility and dedication has earned widespread praise, reinforcing faith in the police force amid challenging terrains of Jammu & Kashmir. The Jammu & Kashmir Police Department has also acknowledged the officer’s efforts on official channels.
